The Single Museum in the Czech Republic


Museum panenek a medvídků pod Troskami is located in the heart of Český ráj, 500 m. from the old castle Trosky. The museum was built in a village style and fits in perfectly with the surrounding countryside. You can find over 1000 exhibits in the exhibition area which is 300 m2.

The exhibition is split into several sections: in the big showroom you can find out about the history of toys - you will get a good overview thanks to the showpieces by different traditional materials.

Visitors have a good opportunity to compare old toys from 1840. Modern artificial-collecting productions of famous artists (e.g. Philip Heath - Great Britain, Carin Lossnitzer - Germany, Nell de Man - Netherlands etc.). Apart from those, you can also admire work from the Czech artist Dagmara Jurčíková. In "her" section of the museum you will find not only completed dolls, but also dolls being made in stages.

We also didn't leave out the State Of The Art dolls.

Another section is dedicated to bears (medvídkům), you will find wooden toys as well.

Also toy fanatical visitors of toy museums from all over the world highly rate the museum, which is very attractive. In fact there is no other museum like it in the Czech Republic.

You can also see a lot of children's prams from 1850 to the 1920.s. All are made from the material, plush velvet, the same material that the bears are made from.

Before entering the main areas you can admire artistic photographs which are displayed in reception.

The museum also has its own car park.
